EXHALATION is a large wall installation in which a pattern of
concave diamonds appears to well up out of the void of the white
wall. The diamonds are articulated with thin strips of painted
paper that bow out from the wall. Fluorescent paint on the backs of the
strips reflects color onto the wall behind, creating a hallucinatory effect.
Moving out from the center, the diamonds diminish in depth, until they
become two dimensionally collaged onto the wall. At the outer limits
of the pattern, the diamonds are drawn on the wall with pencil.
